After a few years in the U.S. military and a stint as a stay-at-home-mom, a divorce thrust me into panic mode about 11 years ago.
So, I went to night school to pursue a Cosmetology license. I spent 8 years in the hair industry before I decided enough was enough. (Those who can work in services – bless you.)
Thinking I wanted a job that involved less public contact, I became a desk jockey.
3 years into office work, and after acquiring a plethora of skills I did not have, I felt the tug, as I had many times before, to go back to school.
Working full time and schooling full time was often a hellish nightmare, but a mama’s gotta do what she’s gotta do! Here I am, 3.5 years later (no longer working) and one semester away from my B.A. in History (I know, it’s not for everyone, and I am glad – more for me!). And intending to continue to grad school.
If you had told younger me that older me would be not just in school, but wanting to keep going to school, I would have thought you were crazy!
But it has been the best decision of my life (just like this blog will be).
I have learned some ins and outs, tips, and tricks, along the way, which is my gift to all of you.
I hope my losses and lessons are your gain! Thanks for visiting, and enjoy!
I haven't had much time to dedicate to my page, but for good reason! As of, well, now, I am officially a college graduate! AND beginning in the new year, I will be back at it working on that Master's degree!
